About the artwork

According to Kant, two things fill a person’s soul with an unprecedented delight – the starry sky above us and the moral law within us. Kant said, “Give me the matter, and I will show you how the world should come from it”. Thus, he had a wonderful opportunity to use the invisible without the special gadget “matter”, and even then he seemed to hint that we, like gods, can create the world.

The amazing construction of the Pavilion of the Shatylivskyi source is striking in its unusual shape, which is so well suited to its contents. The history of the source goes back to the 60s when a pump room was designed at the site of the spring by Vasyliev’s architectural project. The modern form of a pump room is a concrete pavilion with three pillars. In Soviet times, until the mid-1990s, a factory for bottling mineral water of the same name in glass bottles operated near the source. Now the factory does not exist. The name Milky Way is about the sense of freedom and perspective, a sense of the vast outlook of space.
