15.06 at 3 pm: Lecture by Larysa Osadcha “The Sublime and the Terrible as the Emotional Amplitude of Sacred Art”

15.06.2024 -

On 15 June 2024, the M17 hosted a public lecture-discussion by Larysa Osadcha on “The Sublime and the Terrible as the Emotional Amplitude of Sacred Art”.

Larysa Osadcha is a cultural studies scholar, doctoral student at the National Academy of Arts and Culture, PhD in Philosophy, MA in Political Science, lecturer. She studies the concepts of mentality, archetypes of national culture, and collective memory.

“The title of the exhibition “Foretypes”, as well as the artistic forms and colour schemes on Anatoly Kryvolap’s canvases, are associated with Carl Gustav Jung’s concept of archetypes. But in this exhibition there are clear religious connotations, so I want to associate archetypes with numinous experience, sacred art,” Osadcha notes.

Entrance to the current exhibition ‘Foretypes’ by Anatoliy Kryvolap at M17 is included in the price of the lecture ticket.

Opening hours of M17: Tuesday – Sunday, 11:00-20:00

Address: 102-104, Antonovycha St., Kyiv, Ukraine

Tickets are available for purchase here.
