Digital parametric sculpture. Carbon and v4w.enko27.10.2019 - 27.10.2019
We continue our series of meetings at Frontier – VR Art Festival project of art and virtual reality. This time the main theme will be parametric three-dimensional art, in which the shape of the object is modeled on the basis of data processed by a computer program according to the artist’s algorithms.
At 5:00 pm, we traditionally invite you to a curatorial tour of “Frontier. New Monuments” by Catherine Rai.
The Carbon Media Art Lab will kick off at 6:00 pm and will begin with the opening of an exhibition of parametric media art sculptures, during which Artist Talk with authors is also waiting for you.
Since December last year, 5 interactive sculptures have been produced within the Carbon Parametric Sculpture Laboratory, which will be presented for the first time on October 27th. In addition, our guests will be able to see a completely new collective sculpture, which in the future will become the art of the city.
At 19:00 the lecture of the Ukrainian artist Yevhen Vashchenko “Parametric architecture in media art” will begin.
Since 2007, Yevhen Vashchenko (creative alias – v4w.enko) has been working with sound, sculpture and the visual environment in the field of algorithmic art. His work is done by manipulating the computer algorithms that are programmed by the author in real time and directly for a selected moment in software environments such as Max / Msp / Jitter and Grasshopper3D.
And at 8:00 pm, you will see how what you hear at the lecture is embodied – the audio-visual performance of v4w.enko.
