At this year’s Biennale, in the Finnish Pavilion, Jenna Sutela explores the wind as a phenomenon that exists beyond human control. Her project invites us to relinquish the desire to predict or organise the world and instead attune ourselves to its rhythms through the practice of deep listening, where chance becomes a mode of understanding.

A similar sensitivity underpins Place of Existence, an installation by Dmytro Erlikh and Illia Petrov. Sustained sound and unpredictable fluctuations, the darkness of the landscape and the acoustic interaction of objects together create an environment in which attention gradually shifts from seeing to listening. Here, the minor key emerges not as an emotional condition but as a mode of being in the world – one that remains open to what resists definitive explanation.
