Both Alma Allen and Ruslan Tremba turn to nature as a space capable of transforming the way we see. In the United States Pavilion at this year’s Biennale, natural materials undergo a process of artistic transformation, opening up a dialogue about time, matter, and the possibility of inner growth. In Tremba’s works, water, rain, and the mountain landscape become images of self-discovery: the lake is transformed into a mirror of the world, while the rain becomes a threshold where one may leave behind one’s own burdens. Natural forms become mirrors of continuous metamorphosis, where the transformation of matter is inseparable from the transformation of human perception.
