In the projects of Khaled Sabsabi, presented in the Australian Pavilion, and Alina Khorolska, space ceases to be merely a physical environment and acquires the qualities of an inner landscape. The Australian Pavilion becomes a contemplative environment where sound, moving image, and painting serve as instruments of a spiritual journey, while the path through the installation becomes a way of reflecting on the relationship between the inner and the outer world.
In her project Living Archive of the City, Alina Khorolska likewise proposes a different way of reading space. Her video compositions emerge from observing the semi-wild landscapes of Kyiv, where plants, stones, and the terrain itself become carriers of memory. In both practices, attentive contemplation transforms place into experience: the landscape ceases to be a backdrop and becomes a space of presence, inner transformation, and dialogue between humanity and the universe.
