Patsiuk Bohdana
The installation “Adaptation” consists of amorphous paper stone-like sculptures of various sizes. These sculptures adapt according to the space in which they are exhibited, changing their sizes and shapes while resembling stones. The process of adaptation itself is a necessary and inseparable aspect of our lives. Everyone faces conditions where they need to accept a new reality and continue living, leaving the past behind and stopping the comparison. We all encounter the challenges of our time and circumstances and must adapt to them: continuing to live while “stitching” a new reality.
Born in 1995 in Lutsk, Ukraine
As an artist, classic and new media are utilized. Often, two-dimensionality and three-dimensionality are combined with sound, light, moving images, and computer programs.
For installations, various animated images are often included. The theme that runs through the creative process deals with man and his interaction with others and the environment.
There is an interest in exploring human needs and instincts, as well as a person’s ability to adapt in different environments. The emotional component of a person, especially the need to satisfy the sense of security and home, is also of significance.
In creating graphic and moving images, the aesthetics of urbanism are relied upon to showcase the everyday life of a person and the impact of mechanization on individuals.
