Antsyhin Yehor
Date of birth: 1989
Place of residence: Yuvileine ( Dnipropetrovsk region), Dnipro, Kyiv

Yehor Antsyhin was born in 1989 in Yuvileine, Dnipropetrovsk region.

He graduated from the DTCC (2009), Dnipro, NAOMA (2015), Kyiv, a course of contemporary art by K. Badianova and L. Nakonechna 2013-2015.

He participated in the artistic collective of Specific Dates “KKD” 2015-2018, the artistic group “Montage”, 2016-2020, the international scholarship programme “Gaude Polonia”, 2020.

He works with the theme of memory and its manifestation through the conflict of personal and official history, social criticism, and labour relations.

For the last 5 years, he has been actively engaged in land art. This has influenced his view and perception of the landscape to some extent. It opened up a new method of interaction with space, abandoning object-subject relations with the environment and including space as a participant in the interaction in his works; it actualised the themes of ecology and overproduction. However, the theme of memory, recollection and forgetting remains the red line of his artistic practice.

He uses such media as installation, photography, painting, participatory and performative practices, archives, and land art.

Lives and works in Kyiv.
