Quieter, quieter, be more modest.

When we were in 3rd grade, the boy sitting next to me carved toy cars into the desk with a pen, and the teacher said:
“Girls, take note: don’t grow your hair long, don’t wear ponytails, a man could grab you by it and rape you.”

I am a machine. A machine can run with broken parts.
And when they carve me into the desk with a pen, they forget about many of those parts.
But in the back seat lie teddy bears.
In childhood, I was given teddy bears as rewards for pain — after illnesses, surgeries, when I was left alone, or after fights.
