Echo of the World Against the Scorched Earth

About the artwork

This work speaks to a sense of loss too profound to be expressed in words — a feeling that grows through the fabric of time, distorting reality as it passes.

Images shift, bend, and intertwine as if on the verge of waking. Everything seems to move through emptiness, leaving behind traces that vanish, yet are never forgotten. It is a journey through a silent scream, through a space where past and present merge into a single, haunting song.

Rina Riha works in the mediums of painting and installation. Her artistic practice explores the threshold between dream and reality, often addressing themes of friendship, escapism, and instability.

The imagery in her work — drawn from dreams and nightmares — unfolds into visual narratives where fantasy, fear, and the longing for connection intertwine. Imagined creatures and battle scenes, inspired by medieval miniatures, engravings, and classical painting, become metaphors for internal states and the search for new forms of coexistence.
