Mother Teresa used to say: “Find your own Calcutta.” Nowadays, almost every human rights defender, fighting for his/her “Calcutta”, bears an often backbreaking cross to his Calvary. As a rule, his/her actions are a stumbling block for the ruling elites, which can sometimes leads to bloodshed.
“Collage is my therapy. Creating them is my meditation: flipping through magazines and books, sorting through old photos, feeling the paper by touch and smell, enjoying the variety of textures and thicknesses, and listening to the sound of scissors and the trembling of materials when cutting. And then creating a new story from these rituals. I work specifically with analog collage as my [mental] support and at the same time a tool of communication with the world.”
