About the artwork

In March 2022, a childhood friend of mine, who also happened to be my former classmate and a graduate of a military academy, was deployed to one of the hotspots. Part of her duties involved operating drones and identifying new targets for artillery strikes.

One day, she and her comrades were reviewing footage from a drone flying over the so-called “grey zone,” where both our and enemy positions were located. While studying the drone footage, they discussed potential targets. A pink mansion particularly caught their attention. The house seemed so appealing that they decided not to destroy it but to save it for when they advanced along the frontline and could use it as a base. One of her comrades exclaimed, “We’ll keep this one, we’ll live here.”
