About the artwork

Since the beginning of humanity, people have grouped together following an idea, seeking or identifying with our society. Within this way of grouping there have always been leaders and followers and in between the need for power and ambition of some that end the freedom of many. The human being imposes itself on certain limits or boundaries that end up in slavery.

The need to belong to a social group demands limits in every aspect of our behavior, expression, thinking…We renounce the freedom with which we are born with the moment we seek social approval, protection, security, comfort.

Being free implies facing emptiness, uncertainty, the fear of not knowing; many times, it is easier to follow a path already marked even knowing it’s in exchange for our freedom.
