Pidlisnyi Andriy
The concept of the “red line” in politics represents an abstraction that serves not only to denote the boundaries of tolerance but also as a metaphor for uncertainty and unpredictability in international relations. It can function both as a tool for legitimizing actions and as a source of confusion.
Political leaders use “red lines” as a way to declare their intentions, but this process often gives rise to absurdity: lines can be crossed without consequences, or their enforcement may lead to conflict escalation. Thus, “red lines” reflect not only boundaries but also domestic politics, where abstract ideas influence the real destinies of nations.
Andriy Pidlisnyi was born in 1975 in Kyiv.
Works mainly with found objects, video, installation and graphics. He uses modern digital technologies, analogue classical techniques and various materials.
