Poly Julie

Julie Poly (Yulia Polyashchenko) was born in 1986 in Stakhanov (now Kadiivka), Luhansk region.

Julie Poly graduated from the Kharkiv School of Photography and the Ukrainian State Academy of Railway Transport, having also worked as a train conductor during the summer of 2017.

This experience inspired her Ukrzaliznytsia project (2017–2019), which blends documentary and staged photography in Ukrainian trains from the 1990s, often with erotic overtones. The work was exhibited at Kyiv’s central railway station and published as a photobook under the same name.

Julie is recognized as a Ukrainian fashion photographer whose distinctive style merges documentary realism with fashion staging.
