Markarian Vartan
Our spaces are full of different symbols, and signs, information. All this does not let us dissolve into nature, feel alone or even like a primitive man. There are pedestals symbolizing idols of “eras” on each square meter. Sometimes they contrast with each other to the point of being absurd. Of course, this is our history, but perhaps its place is in museums where it will shock by hyperbolizing or, conversely, fascinate with its elegance.
Parks nowadays are green oasis-islands, the places where we escape from the “maze of walls”. The artist placed some jellyfish in the fountain near Maxim Gorky Central Park with the help of augmented reality. They plunge into a new mystical world and urge us to fantasize about who they are. Perhaps this is a digitized world of the past, or perhaps our “fabrication” of a rethought world.
