The house that Jack built
The house that Jack built 110x100 cm, canvas, enamel, 2020
About the artwork

“Jack’s house is his inner world, his personal experience gained throughout his life, which became the material for the construction of the strong walls of the temple of consciousness. The internal layout of the house, the location of all the rooms and secret corners are known only to Jack. The map is in his head. Therefore, any casual guest can easily get lost in it and as a result get a bad impression or a clear understanding of what is happening. But if you take a little time to study this house, wander around it with a map, I am sure that you can discover a completely different, new, wonderful world. The work was created back in the days of COVID isolation. When people deliberately locked themselves in their homes for a long time, leaving it only when necessary. The time when the doors of their homes were closed to unexpected guests. What can we say now, when some people have lost their homes, when the only support is the walls of the temple of common sense…”

The artist directs his artistic activity to the study of various facets of perception of the surrounding world, based on the inner worldview and the search for stylistic expression with the help of visual means. A characteristic feature of his work is a certain naivism, where the childish perception of the world is put in an absolute, and deliberately clashes with adult pragmatism and objectivity. In his artistic practice, he works with the themes of childhood, humour in art and sexual context. Works with such media as painting, graphics and installation.
