19-21.06: An AI-tour for the first time at M17
19.06.2025 - 21.06.2025
Artificial Intelligence Guides a Tour at M17
The M17 Contemporary Art Center is preparing a true sensation: for only three days — June 19, 20, and 21 — for the first time ever, a tour will be conducted not by a person, but by a neural matrix developed on the basis of the creative legacies of Kazimir Malevich and Oleksandr Bohomazov.
This is not just a pre-recorded audio guide or a formulaic chatbot. You’ll be able to interact with the neural network in real time — ask questions, hold a conversation, discuss artworks — as if Malevich or Bohomazov themselves were guiding you through the exhibition.
Why these artists?
We chose these particular artists because their figures and creative visions resonate most strongly with the concept of the exhibition. We were curious to experiment and imagine what they might say about ‘Beyond the Shadow’.
Kazimir Malevich has a unique connection to M17. He once lived near the site where the M17 Center is now located. The architecture of our building reflects his artistic principles, and M17 has implemented several projects dedicated to or inspired by his legacy.
We’ve always wondered: What would Malevich say about the contemporary non-objective art featured in “Beyond the Shadow”?
Oleksandr Bohomazov, another pioneer of the Ukrainian avant-garde, is a symbolic guide for this experience as well. His theories of form and motion resonate deeply with the themes of the exhibition.
In addition, a neural matrix of me, as the curator, will offer a special curatorial tour of the exhibition.
If you are currently in Kyiv, you are very welcome to pay a visit and give it a try!
How does it work?
・Bring a fully charged smartphone
・Choose your guide from among the neural matrices (e.g. Malevich, Bohomazov)
・Interact with them in real-time chat
