Untimely: Exhibition tour19.09.2020 - 19.09.2020
September 19, at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
The exposition of Victor Sydorenko’s personal exhibition Untimely included two projects of the author.
- The first one is a large cycle The Beach and the Shore, which Victor created during 2004-2017. The cycle was inspired by the text of the philosopher Michael Epstein, which considered how the same substance, the land edge, changes its semantic and symbolic significance depending on what name to give it: the beach as something “all-unifying” or the shore as “all-dividing”.
- The second one is new works to the already known series of the artist called Un-Timely.
How can the presented artworks be interpreted? What are the possible ways to work with your own impressions of them? What is the purpose of the move with the deployment of the archive of the process of paintings creation in M17? What is the origin of the unique author’s technique, which involves the almost complete destruction of artwork in one phase of its creation?
We invite you to the exhibition tour to deal with these and other issues.
The tour is conducted by the author of the texts, co-curator of the exhibition Untimely Eugenia Gavrylenko.
