Birds fall silent for 4-8 seconds before the arrival of a blast wave. This interval occurs because the acoustic signal travels faster through the Earth’s crust than the sound wave moving through the atmosphere. This phenomenon evokes the idea of birds as sensitive membranes, instinctively responding to this stimulus.

Likewise, artists, contemplating the reverberations of war, channel its echoes into their creations. They encapsulate the memory through imagery, symbolism, and narratives, rendered with symbolic colours and metaphors.
