Ці дві роботи «Вона» і «Він» не лише про чоловіче й жіноче. Вони — про кожну людину.
Протягом життя ми шукаємо підтримку, любов, прийняття та опору в інших людях. Нам здається, що саме хтось інший здатен заповнити внутрішню порожнечу, зробити нас сильнішими або щасливішими.
На картині «Вона» центральним елементом є великий білий кристал кварцу, оточений гострою темною кам’яною крихтою.
На картині «Він» — темний природний кварц із райдужним внутрішнім сяйвом, який притягує світло білого кварцу.
Гострі краї кварцевої крихти нагадують, що життя може ранити, випробовувати, змінювати нас, але саме через цей досвід ми відкриваємо власну силу.
Разом картини символізують гармонію протилежностей — жіночого і чоловічого, світла і тіні, сили й вразливості, руху і спокою. Між ними існує невидиме тяжіння, але головна думка полягає в іншому.
Ми все життя шукаємо те, що вже маємо від народження.
Справжня опора, любов, світло й внутрішня сила вже існують усередині кожного з нас. Потрібно лише зупинитися, зазирнути в себе і дозволити їм проявитися.
Oksana Zhurakovska is a Ukrainian stone artist. Her practice explores natural stone not as a decorative material but as a carrier of memory, time, and cultural code. In her work she reimagines minerals, precious and ornamental stones, rare crystals, fossils, and historical artefacts, turning them into a contemporary artistic language in which each element is a material witness to the geological history of the Earth and of human civilization.
She works in her own technique, which has no direct analogue in Ukraine. For the artist, natural material is not a means of decoration but a full artistic language, uniting geology, cultural memory, sacred symbolism, and contemporary artistic thinking. Her mission is to create art that preserves the memory of the Earth, connects the past with the present, and shapes a cultural heritage for future generations.
Artistic practice
She creates original paintings, installations, and collectible art objects from natural stone and minerals from around the world. She works with museum-grade collectible minerals, precious and ornamental stones, rare crystals, fossils, and historical artefacts (cartridge cases, coins, badges, and other objects of material culture), integrating them into artistic compositions. Each material carries its own history and scientific, cultural, and symbolic value, becoming an inseparable part of the work’s meaning. Her works exist at the intersection of fine art, geology, history, cultural memory, and spiritual tradition.
