Beehive
Beehive 90 × 50 × 40 cm, military ammunition crate, wooden honeycomb frames, 2023
About the artwork

The idea for the project is based on a real event. During a break between battles near Bakhmut, a swarm of bees flew into an empty ammunition crate. One of the soldiers built honeycomb frames for them. This incident became a metaphor for the resilience of nature, which, despite everything, finds a way to adapt and continue life—even within military artifacts.

Bees are highly organized insects and, in many ways, resemble human communities. As part of the project, an installation was created using ammunition crates transformed into beehives.
